What We Treat

Sports Injury Recovery in Kearney

The knee twist. The bad landing. The strain that shows up mid-season and won’t quiet down. We build a plan that gets you back — and helps make sure it’s not the same injury again next season.

Getting Back Fast Isn’t the Same as Getting Back Right

Bumps, strains, and awkward landings come with the territory for competitive athletes and weekend warriors alike. What matters most isn’t just how fast you get back — it’s whether you get back with the strength, mobility, and confidence to actually stay there.

A huge number of repeat sports injuries trace back to the same root cause: rushing back before the tissue, strength, or movement pattern was actually ready. Treating the injury in front of us is only half the job — the other half is building you back stronger than before, so the next hard cut or landing doesn’t find the same weak spot.

Most repeat injuries aren’t bad luck — they’re the first injury coming back because something never fully healed or rebuilt. Our plan is built to close that gap, not just get you back on the field.

Root Causes

What Causes Sports Injuries

01

Acute Trauma

A twist, collision, or bad landing that damages tissue in a single moment — sprains, strains, and tears that need prompt, accurate evaluation.

02

Overuse & Overtraining

Ramping up training volume or intensity faster than the tissue can adapt is a common path to stress injuries that build gradually rather than happen all at once.

03

Incomplete Rehab From a Prior Injury

Returning to play before strength, mobility, and movement confidence are fully restored sets up the same injury — or a new one — down the road.

04

Movement & Mechanics Faults

How you cut, land, or lift can quietly overload the same structure again and again, especially under fatigue late in a game, match, or workout.

“Thank you so much for helping my calf strain, True Health And Performance. I was so nervous that this strain would interfere with my black belt testing coming up.”

How We Find the Real Cause

A Real Evaluation, Not a Five-Minute Guess

Getting you back to your sport safely means understanding exactly what happened, what’s actually limited right now, and what “ready” needs to look like for your specific sport and position — not a generic timeline.

That clarity is what lets us build a return-to-play plan around your actual injury and your actual goals.

Injury & Movement History Review

How it happened, what’s happened before, and what you’re trying to get back to — sport, position, and timeline all factor into the plan.

Strength & Movement Testing

Quantifying strength, mobility, and movement-pattern differences side-to-side, so we know exactly what still needs to catch up.

Return-to-Play Readiness Benchmarks

Objective criteria for when it’s actually safe to go back — not just a guess based on the calendar.

Your Plan

Getting You Back — Stronger, Not Just Sooner

Physical Therapy

Targeted exercise and manual therapy to heal the injury itself and rebuild the strength, mobility, and control that keeps it from coming back.

Massage Therapy

Hands-on work with Kyla to release muscular tension and support recovery between training and rehab sessions.

Return-to-Play Progression

Graduated, sport-specific training and objective benchmarks that build back up to full activity — not a one-size-fits-all discharge sheet.

Common Questions

Sports Injury FAQs

How do I know if this is serious, or something I can play through?

Sharp pain, significant swelling, instability, or an inability to bear weight or use the limb normally are signs to get evaluated before continuing to play. When in doubt, a quick evaluation is a lot cheaper than a longer layoff later.

How soon can I get back to my sport?

It depends on the injury and what your sport actually demands of you, but the goal is always a real return-to-play plan with objective benchmarks — not a generic timeline that ignores whether your body is actually ready.

I already did PT for this once and it came back — why?

That’s common, and it usually means the rehab stopped once pain went away rather than continuing through full strength and movement restoration. We build the plan to close that gap, not just get you out of pain.

Do you work with coaches or athletic trainers?

Yes — when it's useful for your recovery, we’re glad to coordinate with a coach or athletic trainer so your return-to-play plan lines up with what your team or season actually needs.

Get Back in the Game, For Good

A sports injury that isn’t fully rehabbed has a way of finding you again. Schedule an evaluation and let’s build a plan that gets you back — and keeps you there.
